Sharon needs a roommate. Robyn needs to disappear.

When the two women become unlikely housemates, their lives quickly take unexpected turns. Sharon’s quiet routine is disrupted by Robyn’s mysterious past and bold outlook on life, and what begins as a simple living arrangement soon spirals into something far more thrilling—and dangerous.

The Roommate by Jen Silverman is a deliciously dark, off-beat comedy about second acts, unexpected friendships, and the intoxicating allure of reinvention.

Directed by Maxwell Schaeffer, this production stars award-winning Iowa actors Kellie Kramer (Sharon) and Kristin Larson (Robyn).

Cast

Kellie Kramer (Sharon)

Kellie Kramer is an award-winning Iowa actor and singer whose credits include roles at the Des Moines Playhouse in A Streetcar Named Desire (Blanche DuBois), Mamma Mia! (Donna Sheridan), and The 39 Steps. Other area stage credits include One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (Nurse Ratched) at the Playhouse, Next to Normal (Diana) at StageWest, Prelude to a Kiss (Rita) at Tallgrass Theatre Company, and Lizzie Borden: The Musical (Lizzie) at History Boys Theatre Company. Kellie also hosted the Emmy-nominated Iowa Outdoors on Iowa PBS. She proudly considers herself a bona fide road-tripper and fried potato aficionado.

Kristin Larson (Robyn)

Kristin Larson is the professor and chair of Theatre Arts at Grand View University, where she is fortunate to create theatre with talented and creative students. She holds a BFA in Acting from Southern Oregon University and an MFA in Directing from the University of Montana. Kristin recently directed Men on Boats and Once at the Des Moines Playhouse. Other stage credits include Other Desert Cities at Tallgrass Theatre Company, Time Stands Still with StageWest Theatre, and The Beauty Queen of Leenane with Mooncoin Entertainment. Though she spends much of her artistic life directing, Kristin is thrilled for this opportunity to step into a role and onto the stage with this exciting team at The Ingersoll Dinner Theater.

Your ticket includes our house greens salad with choice of dressing, basket of dinner rolls with butter, and a selection of entrée options, along with coffee, tea, and water. All other drinks such as alcohol, soda, starters, entrée upgrades and desserts are available for purchase during your Ingersoll dining experience.
